It was 14 months ago that I was laid off. I’ve had many interviews for full-time positions with great companies. More than one seemed like a sure thing… but none of them came through. A couple of contracting jobs — and a lot of help from parents — filled the gap.
This was the longest job search I have ever done. It was certainly a brutal year. But the spiritual benefits are undeniable; Kay and I are in a much better place in our relationship with God, with each other, and with our church. So as much as saying so makes us cringe: It was worth it.
On Monday, I finally returned to work as a full-time employee. Thank you, PayPal!

i’m glad the portion of my income that goes to fees is going to a good place.
excellent Jon. congrats.
Wonderful news, Jon.
So happy for you Jon. I hope this turns out to be a great job for you!

Nathan, I hope that removes some of the sting.
Ian, thank you so much.
Maria, thank you for rejoicing with me. Hurray!
Sami, I wasn’t so sure after the first week. But I am happy to say that besides just providing a salary, I believe this is a God-thing and that I am in the right place at the right time.
Roy, thank you, thank you. I am believing that it will be more than a paycheck.
