Back to work!

February 9, 2010

PayPal logoIt was 14 months ago that I was laid off. I’ve had many interviews for full-time positions with great companies. More than one seemed like a sure thing… but none of them came through. A couple of contracting jobs β€” and a lot of help from parents β€” filled the gap.

This was the longest job search I have ever done. It was certainly a brutal year. But the spiritual benefits are undeniable; Kay and I are in a much better place in our relationship with God, with each other, and with our church. So as much as saying so makes us cringe: It was worth it.

On Monday, I finally returned to work as a full-time employee. Thank you, PayPal!

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.
