Blogging Helps Lectio Divina

My lectio divina hasn’t been very smooth lately. Much of it has been that I’ve crowded it out with tax preparations, and similar to Andrew Careaga’s experience, I’ve tried to zip through it.

But some of it has also been that I’ve been too busy to blog about it. Curiously, I think that blogging helps me lectio. Taking some time to write my thoughts and compose a simple prayer helps me with both the meditation and the aspect of praying the Scriptures. Then that thought sticks with me, so I find it easier to contemplation and rest in God’s presence throughout the day. So I’m going to try to catch up on blogging my recent thoughts, and we’ll see how it goes.
