Can’t sleep…

January 27, 2006

…because I am too busy dreaming.

Why did I start talking when it was already late? But Kay listened as I explained my deepening desire. I recounted the four dreams — five if you include Clown Pez. My thoughts came together with greater clarity than they have before, including a new credo, courtesy of Bill and Ted.

Before nodding off, Kay said, “God is speaking to you. So be at peace in your discomfort.” And so, trusting in God for the timing of the Pez, I wait. But it got me excited, and I can’t sleep.

Jesus is doing a gut-buster on my chest:

Ow. Ow. Don’t stop.

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. Amen, Jon. You’ve got a great wife, an amazing determination, and some wild dreams.
    I love it.

  2. Jon, I didn’t know you were an artist? Musically, yes, but that is a beautiful picture!

  3. I started the picture, but others (with talent) completed it and made it beautiful. It was in the context of corporate art-worship, where everyone drew on their section for a time. After that time, we all rotated and worked on what our neighbor started!
