Cat’s in the Kettle

December 2, 2003

[cat in the kettle]The music video of a great song! Thanks to Craig and Jeph.
Kids will not enjoy it as much as adults. (Though that leaves me wondering how Craig and Jeph know the song. I suppose you kids heard it from Ugly Kid Joe instead of Harry Chapin. 😉

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. Harry Chapin? You mean Cat Stevens right? Everybody knows that Cat Stevens sang Cats in the Cradle…
*laugh* Ok, just kidding, that just happens to be one of my favorite faux pas that I hear all the time. Just in case someone is reading this, Harry Chapin IS the singer behind Cats in the Cradle. Yusaf Islam (Cat Stevens) would never betray his art to name a song after himself. C’mon.

  2. Ugly Kid Joe…
Now that brings back some memories of some of the worst music I ever listened to.

  3. Reminds me of the comments from a Vineyard missionary about the “Kingdom Conflict” caused by being served both cat and dog on the same day in the Philippines…

  4. Of course, Cat Stevens wouldn’t name songs after himself…just albums. CATch Bull at Four, Teaser and the Fire Cat, Mona Bone Jakon (don’t ask what it means), etc.

  5. Maybe CAT is hidden within Mona Bone Jakon. I bet if we looked hard enough, we’d find it — hey, kind of like The Bible Code.

  6. Hope you enjoy this song 🙂
