Ending / Beginning

August 28, 2004

Our home group concluded last week with a potluck pool party. Kay & I awarded certificates, something to make everyone laugh and remember. The group stunned us in return by giving us a plaque with photos and the kindest words.

Why dissolve a perfectly good group? So that the virus will not remain contained but will spread. We experienced a different way of being church, and now everyone has been ruined; we will not settle for less again.

We love you guys so much.

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. Reading this made me think, “This is how the stories from the Bible become your story.” That’s all I can articulate right now.

  2. And we love you. ♥
You are so right..we were all made for better things, and built for higher ground.
Other people need to know and believe that too.

  3. Did anyone else notice that there are *twelve* of us former “Cross Trainers”? Whoa . . .
Kay and Jon – Thanks for redefining “ruined” and then ruining us. Out of our ruinedness, we are already arising to go on to “higher ground”, as Kreek’t says, and forging ahead to more love and more good deeds. Bwok!
