Evanescence

I’m listening to Evanescence. I like the power of rap-metal groups, but they are generally lacking in the melodic department. Enter Evanescence — this gal can sing! “I believe in you / I’ll give up everything just to find you”

    Stavesacre
Hi Jon, that’s certainly a different way to stumble through here! I have one Stavesacre album — Friction — that I really like. I haven’t heard the others.

I’ve been enjoying the album for awhile now as well. Good stuff.

Evenscence sucks. I can’t believe people actually like this crap.
I’m surprised my head’s not exploded yet.

It’s like Enya meets Linkin Park. There are some ballots that really hit you; they make you think and some that you can skip over and direguard. It’s a good cd no doubt one of the few that I enjoy.

What surprises me is that even though it’s been months since I first heard this album, and it’s even been months since I bought it for myself (see August 5), it’s still one of my favorites. That says a lot.
Enya + Linkin Park? Interesting analogy. Thanks for stopping by, and feel free to join more recent conversations!

Hmm, you seem to have uncovered a brand new way to get new folks into your blog, and with a rather diverse level of literacy ;) . An interesting parallel between the lyrics you posted and: “I’d gladly lose me to find you, I’d gladly give up all I got. To catch you I’m gonna run and never stop” from The Bargain, by the Who, of course. I love Truth in secular lyrics.

Oops, I just realized this was not a new post, just new feedback. Velly Solly!

Oh gosh, Randall has referenced an amazing song you “young folks” should check out. :-)
I’d pay any price just to get you
I’d work all my life and I will
To win you I’d stand naked stoned and stabbed
    I’d call that a bargain
    The best I ever had
    The best I ever had
The song is Bargain. The album is Who’s Next. The band is The Who.

I love Amy Lee’s voice. She has that angelic twang to an otherwise dark instrumentation. That rocker chick personality has been done before, but the quality of her voice gives it a different kind of appeal.. But I don’t like the way their songs (music) sound. It’s like it’s the same song starting at different points with a new set of lyrics. There is hardly any variation. :-(
If you like Evanescence, a similar band “Lacuna Coil” has far better sound quality. That’s my opinion anyhow. :-D

anybody that doesnt like evanscence or amy lee is sick in the head and can go take a flying leap off of a linkin park album

hi, before i bought the CD, i never actually thought that evanescence was actually that good. I mean, i heard “bring me to life,” and thought that it was good, but not excellent. I then found that i had a voucher that was nearly about to expire, so i just grabbed the first CD that i thought i could give a try..Fallen..Money very well spent. Evanescence has got that ideal goth rock genre that isn’t too heavy, and Amy Lee’s voice is superior to any other, including the more famed celebs..+ she aint too bad either
