(This was my attempt at getting my pastor to blog by having him post on my blog. He is responding to the previous post on “business-speak and church-speak” but never took to blogging.)
I’m going to try this again. I’m not sure my thoughts went through the first time. Anyways…I think that “business speak” is the same as “churchspeak” both hinder us from reaching our goals. Christians are notorious for using words and phrases that isolate and confuse normal, i.e. unchurched people. Whether we realize it or not, much of our lives revolve around communication. Before we speak we should ask a simple question, “Will what I’m about to say be understood by the majority of my audience…even if my audience is one.”
