Hirsch/Frost in the Bay Area!

Alan Hirsch and Michael Frost are co-authors of the book The Shaping of Things to Come. Their basic thrust: Church as we know it was built on social structures that no longer exist. We need to become missionaries to our own culture. Let’s change from being attractional (bringing “them” into our church culture) to being missional (we go out, helping “them” form faith communities unique to their culture).

They are Aussies, so by definition they are not your average American Christians! It is a privilege to have each of them in the Bay Area, on two separate days:

Friday, September 21st: Alan Hirsch
10:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m.
$25, lunch included

Wednesday, October 3rd: Michael Frost
9:00 a.m. — 3:00 p.m.
$50, plus lunch money

Both events will be held at Church of the Chimes in San Jose (1447 Bryan Avenue). The first one is hosted by the RCA (the denomination to which The Journey belongs), the second is hosted by little old me. Consequently, the second is more expensive because, hey, I don’t have a big organization with a budget and all.

Let me know if you’re interested, so I can hook you up!
