“home” (Mark 1:29-31 lectio)

Mark 1:29-31 lectio: home. Jesus went to Simon & Andrew’s home. James and John went along. Simon’s mother-in-law was there. Simon’s wife (who is never mentioned) may have been there, unless she had passed away or something. There were probably other people in the home as well. Anyway, it’s quite a gathering. Jesus is teaching in the synagogue and casting out a demon, then they split and head over to someone’s home. A healing occurs, but it’s in the context of hanging out.

God is definitely poking me to get this home group started. Kay told me over lunch that she is also feeling this poking sensation. “Poke him with the soft cushion!”

++ Lord, come to our home. Come hang out with us. Heal the broken people who will come (including me). ++
