Job Titles

February 18, 2005

I have a resume posted on BAJobs.com, which used to focus exclusively on technical jobs. Well, it seems they have expanded into other categories. My search agent, which automatically notified me of any local job postings, started going nuts. Here are the job titles I’m getting now:

Pastry Chef / Experienced Cake Decorator
Loan Consultant
Construction Laborer
Lifeguards
Fraud Specialist
Telemarketer
Furniture Mover

Maybe it’s time for a career change.

  1. I’m guessing with so many choices, it’ll be difficult to make a choice. Kind of like the cereal aisle: will it be Lucky Charms, Count Chocula or Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch…?

  2. Ha ha ha ha!!! That is pretty hilarious. Pastry chef? Lifeguard? Too funny!

  3. Hm, now, the “experienced cake decorator” sounds like a perfect fit…

  4. Pastry chef! Go for it!
By the way, are you going to Monterey in a couple of weeks?

  5. “mmmmm…. pastry.” (H. Simpson)

  6. Wow! I had no idea that you were that multi-talented/faceted, Jon! *hee-hee* ;^)

  7. so, when will you know if you have the job or not?

  8. Mike O: It looks like the Monterey gathering is not happening yet.
Jeph: I do not have the job. But I feel somewhat constrained about venting about it here, since I chose to make my blog a public forum. (I know you understand this…)

  9. Indeed. My email is open…so is my phone.
