Just Ask

Ask Me!Kay learned that the kids have a couple days off from school, so she threw together a trip to SoCal to visit her parents, go to Disneyland, and see King Tut. The question is: could I go? Having just started a new job, I have not accumulated much vacation time, and I am already in the hole because I went to Soliton.

Asking for more time off seemed out of the question. Everyone else is busting their butts. I’m the newbie, and I want to show that I can pull my weight. …But not asking would mean basing my decisions on my boss’s response in my imagination, not reality.

So I screwed up my courage. It was tough. I asked. And my boss said sure, go have fun.

It doesn’t hurt to ask. The only thing that hurt was my pride.

Jesus said “you have not because you ask not.” I’m glad you asked, and received. Cool.
