Life Goes On

October 21, 2003

[Cof-fay]I’m back. I’m OK. For a few days, I didn’t even want to touch the computer. Yesterday I caught up on my blog reading. Now it’s time to get back into posting, if for no other reason than to stay sane. Thanks again for all the support.

Yesterday I introduced Kay to oddtodd, the home of the animation “Laid Off: A Day in the Life”. Caution: Not for the kiddies. (Birgit, that means you.) My coworkers, ahem, ex-coworkers and I have been enjoying this cartoon for months. Now we can watch it all day long!

Time to drink some cof-fay.

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. “Laid off” is great…so stinking “fun-nay”.

  2. Hi Jon, so sorry to hear the news. I guess it came as quite a shock. How many others were laid off in your group/company?
Let us know if there is anything we can do. You might want to catch up with Jor a bit, as he is exploring job/career changes.
I’m praying for you and believing God’s BEST for you. You never know what amazing opportunity God might be opening up for you in this. “May the God of hope, fill you with all joy and peaace as you trust in him” – Helen

  3. OK… that was just… different. His SpongeBob fascination scares me.

  4. Glad you are up and around.

  5. Good luck to you Jon. I’ve been watching that cartoon for awhile now too… a guilty pleasure I don’t tell people at church about. 🙂

  6. Jon… know the feeling… got downsized for the second time by the same company in May… right before I moved to Virginia! The first time was a month and a half before I got married! They hired me back a year later… go figure. Anyway, good luck with the job search… in the meantime, enjoy the downtime!

  7. Glad that you’re back and working on your sanity. Hope things lick up for you in your job search.

  8. Glad to see that you are remaining cheeful, Jon. I know that God has some thing even better in store for you.
