Liftoff

LiftoffToday we held our final worship service. I went there with a “let’s just get this over with” attitude. I did not expect to be moved. Or to cry so hard.

(Dear friends, do not be sad for me. What is happening is good, and is God.)

15 seconds, guidance internal, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, ignition sequence start. Engines on. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, all engines running. Launch commit.

I’m really sorry. It was incredibly emotional for me when I moved away from my church. I can’t even imagine what it would have been like if the church had closed.
p.s. a few, a very few of the wedding pictures are up at http://www.flickr.com/photos/pegasuslibrarian/sets/72157594206052529/

    Jon,
I had lunch with Bill Duke yesterday, and he told me some of your story,
I’ll be staying tuned to the Mission Control broadcasts!

Hey man, I just wanted to let you know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. I am sure it is both a sad and exciting experience as you make the transition. It would be easy to spout nonsense platitudes at this point about doors and windows and such, but I am with Keith in saying that I will stay tuned as I am sure some interesting things will develop.
God bless you Jon in all your endeavors. You taught/teach/influence me a lot in the ways I think of and experience worship and I am sure you will continue to be used and serve in mighty ways!
