(Here’s my “leadership bio” that was just emailed to everyone in the church)
Have you met Jon Reid? Jon heads up our worship team, here’s a bit from him…
Hi, I’m Jon! I’m not sure what to call what I do at church. “Worship team” is a common term, but worship is not something for just a few of us; it’s a joyful duty we all share. Maybe I’m the “lead worshiper.”
Just the facts, ma’am:
- There’s no H in Jon. It’s actually short for Jonathan
- Born and raised in Japan. That’s also where I met Kay
- Kay’s dad and my dad went to Japan on the same boat as young missionaries after World War II
- Kay & I have three kids: Trevor, Shelly and Erin
- Met Jesus: through a supernatural encounter at age 11
- Myers-Briggs personality type: ISFJ
- Blog: jonreid.blogs.com (my views do not necessarily reflect those of Cornerstone Vineyard, usual disclaimers blah blah)
I care about:
- listening to music and watching movies
- creating digital video
- writing and recording music
- the emerging church
- seeing worship expressed through non-musical arts
- hanging with my normal friends who aren’t Christ-followers
- culture / philosophy / missiology / science / geek gadgets
- Kay and the kids, duh!

normal friends who aren’t Christ-followers care about hanging out with you too
Missed you at D&D…
You may be the lead worshiper..
But you are also a worship leader. Your attitude towards worship extends beyond the songs you sing. You are an inspiration to me.
There’s not one comment about being Po-Mo in there
