“repent” (Mark 1:14-15 lectio)

To continue in context, I began today’s lectio with yesterday’s passage …and never made it further. And I got my first one-word-shimmer: repent. Turn-away / turn-to. It is obvious that we need to turn-away from sin, but so often the emphasis is on specific sins rather than a general state of living our lives without God. I need to repent, not as a single act, nor even as a repeated act, but as a lifestyle of continually turning-to God. Brother Lawrence figured out how to do this while washing dishes.

++ Help me to live repentance, to worship you today as I fold laundry. ++
