Sin City, here we come

June 7, 2004

[neon in Las Vegas]We’re off to Vegas for a week, so I have a suggestion: Every day, visit a new blog from the list on the right. If you like what you see, leave a comment and tell them Jon sent you. 🙂

We’ve never been to Las Vegas. But I always look forward to vacations, not just for the relaxing and fun time, but because it usually brings some clarity about what God wants us to do next. If life with God is one big road trip, then vacations are pit-stops. Kay & I plan to go through an assessment test we got from our pastor in preparation for a possible internship — seminary in the real world, mentoring without school?

…Oh, I should leave some bait before I go: Jared, you are a hoser.

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. So you went to… Vegas… to figure out what … God … wanted you to do next?
Lemme tell ya something, my friend, Vegas is a place you go to make deals with the “other guy”…
    I know, I’ve been there a lot!

  2. LOL, yes Lost Wages is the devils play ground, but I suppose God can be found anywhere.
