The cat’s out of the bag

June 18, 2006

Bagged CatThis morning our pastor, who is the only paid staff at our church, dropped the bomb: he is going to stop pastoring our church. (He and his wife will instead focus on coaching other pastor couples.)

What will happen to Cornerstone Vineyard remains to be seen. There may be some who wish to continue and call another pastor. But for me, I see this as an opportunity for radical change. Stay tuned.

“Don’t worry that nothing is happening right now. The Pez is coming behind you soon, and when it comes, you will be thrust out. You don’t have to will it to happen. You don’t have a choice. You are called.” (December 30, 2005)

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. Wow. This is big. I like what Kay said “be at peace in your discomfort.’ 🙂 God sure isn’t committed to our comfort. I look forward to hearing about this journey.

  2. Ok Jon, I take offense to the picture. Really, I do. But its cool, just watch your back when I’m around. 🙂

  3. Heh, click on the picture to see the original and the explanation.

  4. Ok, I read the explanation so therefore I forgive you :). Actually, my cats like to ride around in plastic bags too. I should have known better.
