So Mike A. handed me this CD about a month ago, as a gift. “You’ll like it,” he said. I meant to listen to it right away, but Frosty took precedence. The album languished on my iPod, unheard.
Then Liz sent out an email that they would be playing a gig nearby. “Ah, but it’s on a Thursday, when I have band practice, so I won’t be able to make it,” I thought. But I decided to listen to the CD — after all, it was so kind of Mike.
And I listened.
And I listened some more.
And I thought, holy crap.
And I thought, I will make it as short as possible so I can get over to Mountain View and catch at least some of the gig!
Friends, I appreciate most indie recordings. But this one is different. Ryan Sharp has a gift.
As I made my way to Mountain View, I thought, “I bet Michael Toy will be there.” Sure enough, there he was — what fun to finally meet! Sitting there visiting with Michael, his friend Scott, and Ryan & Holly Sharp who are lovely people⦠a wonderful evening.

Hey man, thanks for your kind words. Great to see you there. Perhaps again when we swing back through? Cheers!
