Video problem?

July 30, 2005

Birgit had trouble seeing my latest video on her PC. My other vlog entries aren’t a problem for her. The problem may be a result of my installing QuickTime 7 since I last vlogged. She writes, “Clicking through from your blog didn’t do it on either of four computers with the latest QuickTime, but if I open QuickTime and then type the address in under ‘open file’ it works. Go figure.”

I’d like to solve this mystery before I post more video. Could other folks with PCs check it out? Thanks.

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. By the way, that solution worked on Randall’s notebook, too.

  2. Jon,
I’m running Windows XP and use Firefox as my main browser. Since I’m on dial up, I just right clicked on the vlog, hit Save Link As…, and twenty minutest later, I had your vlog on my desktop. Double click and it ran in Firefox like a charm.
    It’s all about the Firefox.

  3. Happened to me to. It’s IE. I used firefox and it was fine.

  4. I’m able to view it using firefox, but not IE… (Windows XP, I’m on.)

  5. Thanks, you guys.
It looks like the consensus is: IE sucks, switch to Firefox.

  6. Once I followed your most wise advice to get Firefox, it played great. But I’m really here to say, “Cuuuuuuute!” (really!)
