If you scroll down a bit, I’ve added a couple of sections in the right column showing books I am currently reading, and books I recently finished.

As an American missionary kid who grew up in Japan, I'm a child of two cultures, while not fully belonging to either. This gives me a sightly different view of the world.

  1. Hi Jon, I see you recently read “The Story We Find Ourselves In.” I loved “A new kind of Christian” but I just went to Amazon and the reviews aren’t so good. How did YOU like it?
Will you write a reveiw? Also have you read his book about Hell?

  2. I loved it. The first book helped pull me through my mid-life crisis of faith — you know, when we hit the whole “po-mo” thing.
Now that I am well beyond the angst and do not find myself wrestling with modernity, there are new questions, including: What is the gospel? That’s really what the second book is about. It offers a picture of Genesis-Revelation as a single sweeping narrative, full of beauty of hope.
I have not read the third book yet.
